My Christmas Wish

is not for me this time but for every child who would receive a digital camera for Christmas this year.  Why not, instead, invest a few dollars into a Holga or Diana medium format toy camera?  It will teach the fundamentals of photography while promoting thoughtfulness of composition so much better than any point and shoot might.  So consider buying that special child in your life a traditional film camera (I recommend the two above for their basic manual settings, ease of use and fun and quirky results)?

Freestyle Photographic Supplies is an excellent resource.  I’d usually recommend Randy of Holgamods but he’s out of comission for a short time due to a motorcycle accident.  Very reliable chap.

Now you have no excuse!  Pick up a medium format toy camera and some medium format film and get that kid taking amazing and creative photographs!
